And so it begins

Mk, Day 1- done. :) I took a walk around my neighborhood. It was a little longer than 10 minutes, and later I am going to do some stretching, but I can check off the task for the day and anything else I do will just be a bonus. In walking around my neighborhood today, everything just looked differently. I have driven and walked these streets for almost 9 months, and yet today I realized just what a cool place I live in. I'm going to use my walks to try to capture where I live a little more. (Yay phone camera!). I live in Carrboro, NC, which is about a mile away from Chapel Hill, NC. They are both cool places, with Carrboro being the more "granola" of the two by far. It is the hula hooping capital of like the nation or something. Oh, my bad, it is apparently a "Mecca." It is not uncommon for me to walk past a car and see hula hoops in the backseat. Here is a railing on a porch of an attorney that has been given some personality with glass beads imbedded in the wood.

There are flowers blooming pretty much everywhere here. I found this iris in a parking lot of a nondescript building.

And here is some yard "art." I wanted to take more pictures of their yard, but was afraid someone would catch me.

Here is my house! Would YOU guess it housed 8 people? My room is above the porch. The porch is one of the awesomer things about the house. There are 4 rocking chairs out there that you can kinda see.

And unruly but pretty shrub on our side yard.

Are these azeleas? Anyone know? Either way, I think they liven up their patch of land.
